Elfin Forest

One of the hidden treasures of Los Osos, California — my home — is the preserve of pygmy oak thickets known as the Elfin Forest.

Twisted pygmy oaks hung with Spanish moss provide a gateway to the channels of Los Osos' back bay.

Twisted, horizontal, bone white oak limbs throw up a barrier to a sunlit area of green foliage beyond.
Guardians of the Secret
A bent-over white tree plunges its limbs into a dark block of thick foliage.
Necromancer
A bright white spread of limbs seems to carry light and energy through a patch of foliage running beside a path.
Main Circuit
A line of rusty I-beams rise vertically from the forest, seeming to challenge the mountain skyline in the distance.
